What commercial robotics field service means

A commercial robot can be monitored, updated, and diagnosed remotely. It cannot be unboxed, re-seated, cleaned, swapped, photographed, or packed remotely. Field service covers everything that requires a qualified person to be physically present at the site where the robot operates: a warehouse, a store, a hospital corridor, a hotel, a campus, or a production floor.

For the companies that build, lease, sell, or operate those robots, field service is a recurring operational requirement across the whole lifecycle of the installed base. How Autonomy operates

Autonomy Field Services is a managed field-service function, not a technician marketplace. Every service event runs through the same operating process: a service request with location, platform, scope, service window, and site requirements; technician matching by geography, skill set, and platform requirements; dispatch and coordination of site access, work instructions, parts status, and escalation contacts; onsite execution of the authorized scope; and a documented closeout reviewed for completeness before the event is closed.

One regional operational contact owns scheduling, communication, escalation, and closeout, so your team is not managing individual technicians.

What can be handled onsite

Work stays within low-voltage and electromechanical scope and follows procedures approved by the platform manufacturer and the customer. That includes module, sensor, camera, wheel, motor, and battery replacement where the platform supports field replacement; cable and connector work; cleaning and consumables; physical diagnostics; photo and video capture; and test-procedure execution.

Autonomy does not provide surgical or medical-device repair, safety-critical robotics work, industrial robot-cell integration, PLC or safety-PLC engineering, licensed electrical work, or high-voltage service. If a program needs those capabilities, that is stated during scoping rather than discovered onsite.

How remote engineering fits the workflow

Your engineers remain the technical authority. The onsite technician arrives with the scope and work instructions, coordinates with your remote team when a step requires their eyes or their decision, and escalates through the contacts defined in the work order. The result is that a remote engineer can see, direct, and verify physical work without traveling, and the record of what was done comes back in a consistent format.
