What warehouse fleets need from field service
A warehouse AMR fleet is judged on throughput. Every unit that is charging with a fault, waiting on a part, or sitting in a maintenance bay is capacity the operation planned on and does not have. The service model has to fit the building: work happens around shift patterns, on safety-controlled floors, with site access and escort rules, and often overnight or in short windows between waves.
The physical failure modes are familiar to anyone who runs these fleets: sensor and camera contamination, caster and drive wear from concrete and debris, bumpers and covers damaged by contact, connectors loosened by vibration, batteries degrading, and docks knocked out of position.
